12 Pans of Christmas [finale]

1) Urban Decay Revolution lipstick "stark naked" - finished by previous update

2) Sephora gel lipliner "rose wine"- didn't manage to finish this one, and that's okay. I didn't really have a framework for how long a lip liner takes to use up. I'll keep using this, but not as aggressively as I have been.

3) Givenchy mascara sample - I'm going to consider this done since I'll be tossing it at the end of the month. It's starting to dry out on me a little bit. I enjoyed using it, but not enough to want to repurchase. Again, no update picture for this since it's still an opaque mascara tube.

4) Two BB cream sample jars - I finished the Dr Jart++ by the last update and finished the Laura Mercier not long after the update. I definitely prefer the Dr Jart++ and have been using a full size my friend de-stashed to me. The Laura Mercier one felt a bit too greasy on my face, so I would not purchase that one. (no picture for this since I don't feel like finding the generic empty sample jar from my empties bag - you'll see it in my monthly empties post)

5) Ole Henriksen sheer transformation moisturizer - finished by the last update.

6) Josie Maran finishing balm DS - finished by the last update

7) Nars "Goulue" blush DS - My goal was to have this look used, and I did not succeed. This blush will outlive me. I'm now convinced I'll never need to buy a full sized Nars blush. So I guess that part is a win.

8) Lorac Pro "taupe" - I hit pan!

9) Lorac Pro "espresso" - I did not manage to hit pan on this, but it looks like I'm pretty close.

10) Lorac Pro"nude" - I didn't hit pan on this either, but there's a dent there that wasn't there before. Even though I didn't meet two of my goals for this palette, I feel like I got some solid use out of the palette as a whole just from using it for two months. I can put this back in my collection feeling satisfied.

11) Nars Audacious lipstick "Mona" - I wore this twice. It's a good red, and I don't need another. I just need to keep wearing this one when the red mood strikes.

12) Marc Jacobs lipstick "slow burn" - I didn't finish this, but I made a good dent by using it exclusively for a month or so. I'm ready to use some other lip products, so I'm going to take a break from panning this one, but might go back to it in the future.

Final count - 6/12 goals hit.
I would have liked to see more pan in the Lorac Pro, but overall I'm satisfied with how I did in this project. I'm going to enjoy playing with the rest of my makeup for a while, but I'll be on the lookout for another seasonal project pan to tag along with.

December Empties

I finished 7 products in December, including 1 makeup product instead of all skincare! ~ Clinique take the day off cleansing balm sephora sample: It was odorless, and just oily enough to efficiently remove my eye makeup and mascara. Bonus, it didn't irritate my eyes. I got the full size for Christmas, but I'm going to try to make some progress on my Pond's cream before I crack into it. ~ Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask sample: I got the pack of deluxe sizes to try, and this mask took so long to finish, I'd never buy a full size. It smelled just like a pumpkin treat, so I enjoyed using it up in the fall/winter. ~ Too Cool for School egg mellow cream lotion: I used this as my morning moisturizer. It had a faintly sweet-lemon scent, which I enjoyed. The pump was nice, but I didn't know how much I had left until I went to pump it and it was empty :( ~ Clinique Welcome Wednesday deluxe lipstick from Christmas 2015: finally! I loved the brown-pink color, bu...

Fire & Ice Project Pan [Update #1]

The youtubers are uploading their updates, so here I am, tagging along for update #1! I think I had a pretty successful first month. I also used mostly deluxe sized samples, but eh, I'll take the morale boost. ~ Fire item: Firecracker from the Tartelette in Bloom palette. My goal for the first update was to wear down some of the lettering on it, and I made a decent-looking dent in the first few letters! I'm more of a stab my brush in one place until I see the pan kind of person rather than an even use kind of person, so I probably won't wear down the other letters. I've been wearing this as my lid shade for most of the days I wear makeup, so my next goal is to continue doing that. I suspect I might start to get sick of it, so hopefully I'll be able to keep going with it. ~ Ice item: Tarte smooth operator loose setting powder (deluxe sample size). My goal for this update was to be able to make another line to mark my progress. Unfortunately, the way I get the pro...

Healthy Habits Challenge - February 2020

I have the habit of spending too much of my money on makeup, and spending too much of my time browsing for makeup and consuming makeup-related media. To counteract this, I make myself "earn" my makeup budget by doing things that are better for my mental and physical health. Here's how I did for the month of February: Purchases: ~ I bought a birthday gift for a friend at Ulta - does not come out of budget ~ I repurchased my husband some dental floss (does not come out of this budget) at Sephora and got a Bobbi Brown lip gloss as a point perk - $0 ~ I purchased a full size of YSL Libre perfume since I loved the sample so much (giving myself grace on this purchase this month) and got the UD brow enhancer brow gel in "Brunette Betty" on sale (counts as a replacement since I destashed my other brow gel when it went bad) ~ ABH Jackie Aina palette - it was on sale at Sephora - I used a $20 gift card so I spent $14.10 Books read ($1 per 100 pages) ~ Cress  by M...
