6 By Spring Project Pan - Finale

I picked some pretty ambitious I-just-want-to-see-some-progress kind of products for this project, so I don't have any new products finished up, but I do have some progress to show!

~ Tarte Tartelette In Bloom - When I added this palette, it was intended to be more of a last hurrah before I threw it out guilt-free. However, through this project I rediscovered how much I enjoy using this palette, mainly the mattes in the palette. I have a more noticeable dent in "jetsetter" and I actually used the dark colors in the far right column. At some point during the project I stopped using the sharp liner brush for my lower lash line shadow and started using a stubby smudger brush and I like the effect so much more. I'll be keeping this palette around - mostly as a companion palette for my all shimmer palettes - and I'm glad I took the time to get to know it better.

~ Becca shimmering skin perfecter pressed "Moonstone" - I re-pressed this after the last update and it's been much easier to use. Really thought I would be able to finish it, but I'm still working on it. I'll continue to use this, and hopefully you'll be seeing it in an empties post soon. I would repurchase this if I'm ever in a position to need a new highlighter again.

~ Rimmel lip liner "Wild Clover" - Similar amount of progress. Happy to have gotten use out of it, but also ready to use some of my other lip liners. They're all basically the same color, so it's really more out of fairness than color that I rotate them.

~ NARS Audacious lipstick "Anita" - My goal after the last update was to finish the "R" on the side of the bullet and make some progress on the "S" and I did that. I'm actually almost finished with the "S". Like "Moonstone" I'll probably keep using this so I can move it out. I recently looked at the "dupes in my vanity" section of Temptalia.com and I buy mostly slightly different variations of this shade. As much as I love it, I won't have any need to repurchase for a long while.

~ Bite multistick "Gelato" - I basically stopped using this after the last update, and the progress was minimal throughout the entire project, so I didn't bother taking a picture. Like all the blush I own, this will last forever. I don't think I'm ever going to be an expert blush panner.

~ Previously hit goals: L'Oreal infallible pro-matte foundation; NYX highlighter "Ritualistic"

And that's a wrap! I'm not jumping into another project, and I've kind of stopped doing weekly makeup baskets. I'm still using the basket itself, but I'm rotating things out as I decide I want something new for that category. There are a few things I'm trying to finish, but I'm not tracking progress, and that's working for me right now.

If I see another project I want to join, I will. So stay tuned.

Fire & Ice Project Pan [Update #1]

The youtubers are uploading their updates, so here I am, tagging along for update #1! I think I had a pretty successful first month. I also used mostly deluxe sized samples, but eh, I'll take the morale boost. ~ Fire item: Firecracker from the Tartelette in Bloom palette. My goal for the first update was to wear down some of the lettering on it, and I made a decent-looking dent in the first few letters! I'm more of a stab my brush in one place until I see the pan kind of person rather than an even use kind of person, so I probably won't wear down the other letters. I've been wearing this as my lid shade for most of the days I wear makeup, so my next goal is to continue doing that. I suspect I might start to get sick of it, so hopefully I'll be able to keep going with it. ~ Ice item: Tarte smooth operator loose setting powder (deluxe sample size). My goal for this update was to be able to make another line to mark my progress. Unfortunately, the way I get the pro...

December 2018 Empties

Y'all. This month looks pitiful compared to past months. I suspect it's because I've mainly been using full-sized skincare so I'm not blazing through as much as I have been. ~ It cosmetics secret sauce moisturizer sample - was a little too much for my oily skin. would not repurchase. ~ Mario Badescu herbal rehydrating serum sample set - this was a gel moisturizer, so it's no surprise that I liked this one. Might try it again in the future, but I have a lot of moisturizer to go through first. ~ 2 Sephora samples of Commodity Gold perfume - this is a warm, sweet scent that I really enjoy and I currently have a travel-size spray. ~ Living Proof perfect hair day shampoo - if you remember when I finished the conditioner, you'll recall that I hated this pair of shampoo and conditioner and I used it up as a shaving cream. Would not repurchase. ~ Estee Lauder sumptuous infinite mascara - this has a plastic bristle brush, which I normally don't like, but...

December Empties

I finished 7 products in December, including 1 makeup product instead of all skincare! ~ Clinique take the day off cleansing balm sephora sample: It was odorless, and just oily enough to efficiently remove my eye makeup and mascara. Bonus, it didn't irritate my eyes. I got the full size for Christmas, but I'm going to try to make some progress on my Pond's cream before I crack into it. ~ Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask sample: I got the pack of deluxe sizes to try, and this mask took so long to finish, I'd never buy a full size. It smelled just like a pumpkin treat, so I enjoyed using it up in the fall/winter. ~ Too Cool for School egg mellow cream lotion: I used this as my morning moisturizer. It had a faintly sweet-lemon scent, which I enjoyed. The pump was nice, but I didn't know how much I had left until I went to pump it and it was empty :( ~ Clinique Welcome Wednesday deluxe lipstick from Christmas 2015: finally! I loved the brown-pink color, bu...
