Healthy Habits Challenge - March 2019

This is the monthly installment of how I "earn" my makeup budget by doing things that are better for me than consuming makeup and makeup-related media.

Purchases:
~ The Balm Batter Up eyeshadow stick "batter up" - $3 - as with most of my makeup purchases from Marshall's, I regret this already. Still trying to make it work.
~ Benefit brow bar service at Ulta - This is a beauty service, and thus not included since it's not an area I tend to go crazy with.
~ Too Faced Peach Perfect duo - $32 (I used a $10 gift card) - This comes with the full sizes of the peach perfect primer and the peach setting spray. I've tried both and have said I'd repurchase both so this was a good deal for me. There was also a decent GWP code and 8% back on Ebates, so I'll take it.
~ ABH brow wiz (from Ulta 21 Days of Beauty) - $10.50 - I also bought another Clinique "Take the Day Off" cleansing balm, but since that's a replacement it won't come from this budget.
~ Buxom lipgloss "Kir Royale" - $11 at Ulta 21 days of beauty

No-buy update - As you may have noticed, the no-buy went by the wayside. BUT I have been able to stick to this "earning my budget" system better than in the past. I waited to buy the "Peach Perfect Duo" until I had earned the money, when in the past I would buy it when I wanted it because I knew I would earn the money for it eventually. I bought a few springtime/Easter decorations for the house, but I haven't gone crazy. While it would have been cool to stay aboard the no-buy train, I think my spending is pretty balanced at the moment. With the exception of how much I spend on food, both at the grocery store and eating out (but that's another work in progress).

Fire & Ice Project Pan [Update #1]

The youtubers are uploading their updates, so here I am, tagging along for update #1! I think I had a pretty successful first month. I also used mostly deluxe sized samples, but eh, I'll take the morale boost. ~ Fire item: Firecracker from the Tartelette in Bloom palette. My goal for the first update was to wear down some of the lettering on it, and I made a decent-looking dent in the first few letters! I'm more of a stab my brush in one place until I see the pan kind of person rather than an even use kind of person, so I probably won't wear down the other letters. I've been wearing this as my lid shade for most of the days I wear makeup, so my next goal is to continue doing that. I suspect I might start to get sick of it, so hopefully I'll be able to keep going with it. ~ Ice item: Tarte smooth operator loose setting powder (deluxe sample size). December 2018 Empties

Y'all. This month looks pitiful compared to past months. I suspect it's because I've mainly been using full-sized skincare so I'm not blazing through as much as I have been. ~ It cosmetics secret sauce moisturizer sample - was a little too much for my oily skin. would not repurchase. ~ Mario Badescu herbal rehydrating serum sample set - this was a gel moisturizer, so it's no surprise that I liked this one. Might try it again in the future, but I have a lot of moisturizer to go through first. ~ 2 Sephora samples of Commodity Gold perfume - this is a warm, sweet scent that I really enjoy and I currently have a travel-size spray. ~ Living Proof perfect hair day shampoo - if you remember when I finished the conditioner, you'll recall that I hated this pair of shampoo and conditioner and I used it up as a shaving cream. Would not repurchase. ~ Estee Lauder sumptuous infinite mascara - this has a plastic bristle brush, which I normally don't like, but...

December Empties

I finished 7 products in December, including 1 makeup product instead of all skincare! ~ Clinique take the day off cleansing balm sephora sample: It was odorless, and just oily enough to efficiently remove my eye makeup and mascara. Bonus, it didn't irritate my eyes. I got the full size for Christmas, but I'm going to try to make some progress on my Pond's cream before I crack into it. ~ Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask sample: I got the pack of deluxe sizes to try, and this mask took so long to finish, I'd never buy a full size. It smelled just like a pumpkin treat, so I enjoyed using it up in the fall/winter. ~ Too Cool for School egg mellow cream lotion: I used this as my morning moisturizer. It had a faintly sweet-lemon scent, which I enjoyed.
