5 by Fall Project Pan - Intro

Okay, so the first day of summer was about a week ago - I'm late, it's fine. In a shocking turn from my prior alliterative projects with six products, I'm beginning an alliterative project with five products. This project will go from now to the first day of Fall (September 23rd). Let's go.

1) Stila Glitter & Glow in the shade "Smoldering Satin" - I've had this for a while, and after having a mini dry up on me I'm worried this will too. This will be a very sparkly summer. From the mark on the side, I'd say I have about 60% left.

2) Grande lips hydrating lip plumper mini - It's a clear lip gloss that's mildly tingly and mildly moisturizing. Hopefully I can finish this up and move it out.

3) NARS velvet matte lip pencil in the shade "Let's Go Crazy" - This is a bright, fun fuchsia that I feel only really works on me in the summer. I want to get as much use out of it as I can during its' wear period. Since this is a mini, I'm not sure if it sharpens (it certainly doesn't twist). Once I get past the little nubbin on top, I'll either sharpen and have more product to work through or totally bust apart some plastic in my sharpener. We shall see.

4) Benefit gimme brow mini in the shade 3 - Since packaging on this little guy is opaque, I'm not sure how much I have left and won't be giving update pictures along the way. This is another one I'm hoping to finish up and move out.

5) L'Oreal magic lumi concealer/highlighter pen in the shade "fair" - I'll be using this to brighten/lightly conceal my under-eyes this summer. Since I can't see anything through the little window on the side I think it's safe to say I have quite a ways to go. Like the gimme brow, I probably won't post update pictures if there's nothing to see. Since this is a brush pen with a jack-in-the-box-like explosion of product at the end, I'm hoping I can work through this as well.

Here's everything together:

And for those of you who like to see progress lines, here's where we're starting. The products were rolling around too much to do my usual shot of each product next to its' line.

December Empties

I finished 7 products in December, including 1 makeup product instead of all skincare! ~ Clinique take the day off cleansing balm sephora sample: It was odorless, and just oily enough to efficiently remove my eye makeup and mascara. Bonus, it didn't irritate my eyes. I got the full size for Christmas, but I'm going to try to make some progress on my Pond's cream before I crack into it. ~ Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask sample: I got the pack of deluxe sizes to try, and this mask took so long to finish, I'd never buy a full size. It smelled just like a pumpkin treat, so I enjoyed using it up in the fall/winter. ~ Too Cool for School egg mellow cream lotion: I used this as my morning moisturizer. It had a faintly sweet-lemon scent, which I enjoyed. The pump was nice, but I didn't know how much I had left until I went to pump it and it was empty :( ~ Clinique Welcome Wednesday deluxe lipstick from Christmas 2015: finally! I loved the brown-pink color, bu...

Fire & Ice Project Pan [Update #1]

The youtubers are uploading their updates, so here I am, tagging along for update #1! I think I had a pretty successful first month. I also used mostly deluxe sized samples, but eh, I'll take the morale boost. ~ Fire item: Firecracker from the Tartelette in Bloom palette. My goal for the first update was to wear down some of the lettering on it, and I made a decent-looking dent in the first few letters! I'm more of a stab my brush in one place until I see the pan kind of person rather than an even use kind of person, so I probably won't wear down the other letters. I've been wearing this as my lid shade for most of the days I wear makeup, so my next goal is to continue doing that. I suspect I might start to get sick of it, so hopefully I'll be able to keep going with it. ~ Ice item: Tarte smooth operator loose setting powder (deluxe sample size). My goal for this update was to be able to make another line to mark my progress. Unfortunately, the way I get the pro...

Healthy Habits Challenge - February 2020

I have the habit of spending too much of my money on makeup, and spending too much of my time browsing for makeup and consuming makeup-related media. To counteract this, I make myself "earn" my makeup budget by doing things that are better for my mental and physical health. Here's how I did for the month of February: Purchases: ~ I bought a birthday gift for a friend at Ulta - does not come out of budget ~ I repurchased my husband some dental floss (does not come out of this budget) at Sephora and got a Bobbi Brown lip gloss as a point perk - $0 ~ I purchased a full size of YSL Libre perfume since I loved the sample so much (giving myself grace on this purchase this month) and got the UD brow enhancer brow gel in "Brunette Betty" on sale (counts as a replacement since I destashed my other brow gel when it went bad) ~ ABH Jackie Aina palette - it was on sale at Sephora - I used a $20 gift card so I spent $14.10 Books read ($1 per 100 pages) ~ Cress  by M...
