Go For The Goal - Project Pan Intro

For 2020, I'm going to jump on the bandwagon and try to do a year-long project pan. If you've read my previous "yearly goal" type posts, you'll know that I tend to do pretty much anything other than what I say I'll do in my goals post. So I'm going to ease into it. I recently joined the Pantastic Ladies Collab group on Facebook, and they're doing a "Go for the Goal" project pan this year. Here's the official description:

This project is solely to reach a predetermined goal for any product in your collection. Start with 4-6 products and once you hit goal on that item, roll it out and roll in a new item to work on. This is designed to make progress on your progress without the stress of trying to finish anything. You can mark the halfway/quarter/etc point and work towards that goal or whatever goal works best for you. This is a way to rotate through all of your products and give them all the love they deserve.

I'm starting with 5 products. My goal is to keep this to mostly makeup products. I've done a pretty good job of paring down my skincare backups, so I should be able to have empties from natural use. There may be a perfume here or there, we'll see.

  1. Mac Fix+ mini - This wasn't originally a product I liked, but the fine sprayer on it has really grown on me! My goal is to finish this completely - I currently have about 25% left.

2. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (light 2, vanilla) - I feel like I'm really close to the end of this because not a whole lot comes out on the wand when I apply it. I have very limited faith in my ability to remove the stopper, so this may be finished soon.

3. Beauty by Popsugar lipgloss mini (Be the Boss) - I got this as a free gift with purchase at Ulta, and it's super tiny. It's a somewhat opaque dark pink gloss, and I've been applying it at work. Hopefully I'll be able to finish this by the next update.

4. Laura Mercier Matte Radiance baked powder (Highlight 01) - This is a mini size I got in a 500-point set from Sephora. It's a baked highlighter that looks really pretty on my skin, but I haven't reached for it enough. My goal is to hit pan, and I have no idea how long that will take.

5. Rimmel lip liner (Wild Clover) - My gosh, this has been in so many projects. It's my oldest lipliner, and it's time for it to go. I've been applying all over my lips, which might be cheating (I'm sure my now-neglected lipsticks think so at least). Based on past progress, this may take me all year, but I hope that won't be the case.

Next official update will be at the end of January/beginning of February.

Healthy Habits Challenge - February 2020

I have the habit of spending too much of my money on makeup, and spending too much of my time browsing for makeup and consuming makeup-related media. To counteract this, I make myself "earn" my makeup budget by doing things that are better for my mental and physical health. Here's how I did for the month of February: Purchases: ~ I bought a birthday gift for a friend at Ulta - does not come out of budget ~ I repurchased my husband some dental floss (does not come out of this budget) at Sephora and got a Bobbi Brown lip gloss as a point perk - $0 ~ I purchased a full size of YSL Libre perfume since I loved the sample so much (giving myself grace on this purchase this month) and got the UD brow enhancer brow gel in "Brunette Betty" on sale (counts as a replacement since I destashed my other brow gel when it went bad) ~ ABH Jackie Aina palette - it was on sale at Sephora - I used a $20 gift card so I spent $14.10 Books read ($1 per 100 pages) ~ Cress  by M...

December Empties

I finished 7 products in December, including 1 makeup product instead of all skincare! ~ Clinique take the day off cleansing balm sephora sample: It was odorless, and just oily enough to efficiently remove my eye makeup and mascara. Bonus, it didn't irritate my eyes. I got the full size for Christmas, but I'm going to try to make some progress on my Pond's cream before I crack into it. ~ Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask sample: I got the pack of deluxe sizes to try, and this mask took so long to finish, I'd never buy a full size. It smelled just like a pumpkin treat, so I enjoyed using it up in the fall/winter. ~ Too Cool for School egg mellow cream lotion: I used this as my morning moisturizer. It had a faintly sweet-lemon scent, which I enjoyed. The pump was nice, but I didn't know how much I had left until I went to pump it and it was empty :( ~ Clinique Welcome Wednesday deluxe lipstick from Christmas 2015: finally! I loved the brown-pink color, bu...

December 2018 Empties

Y'all. This month looks pitiful compared to past months. I suspect it's because I've mainly been using full-sized skincare so I'm not blazing through as much as I have been. ~ It cosmetics secret sauce moisturizer sample - was a little too much for my oily skin. would not repurchase. ~ Mario Badescu herbal rehydrating serum sample set - this was a gel moisturizer, so it's no surprise that I liked this one. Might try it again in the future, but I have a lot of moisturizer to go through first. ~ 2 Sephora samples of Commodity Gold perfume - this is a warm, sweet scent that I really enjoy and I currently have a travel-size spray. ~ Living Proof perfect hair day shampoo - if you remember when I finished the conditioner, you'll recall that I hated this pair of shampoo and conditioner and I used it up as a shaving cream. Would not repurchase. ~ Estee Lauder sumptuous infinite mascara - this has a plastic bristle brush, which I normally don't like, but...
