6 by Spring Project Pan - update #1

This past month has yielded some progress, but picking so many mostly-full items means I won't see myself finishing a whole lot. Especially at the beginning of the project. I'm happy to get more use out of these products, especially since they're the ones that usually get shoved to the back of the line.

~ Tarte Tartlette in Bloom: There's really not any visible progress on this. I've been using this as a companion palette to a different more colorful, shimmery palette each week. It has been a decent "workhorse neutrals" palette. While I don't LOVE it as much as I did when I got it, I also am not as bored with it as I was when I put it into the project. I have more appreciation for its' place in my collection and I'm happy to continue using it.

~ NARS Audacious lipstick "Anita": If you look at the picture from the intro post, you'll see that I was in the "A" before, and now I'm into the "R" on the side of the lipstick. I love this lipstick. It goes well with pretty much any eye look I decide to do (I'm kind of boring so that may not say a lot). I'm not sure if I'll finish it any time soon, but I'm happy to continue using it.

~ Bite multistick "Gelato": Previously, I mentioned that I'd be happy if I could draw another line on the paper. I'm going to use this for at least another month since I'm still enjoying it. I don't know if it's because it's a cream product, but I tend to shy away from this when shopping my stash for blush. I'm happy to keep the momentum going.

~ Rimmel lip liner "Wild Clover": It looks so much bigger in the picture than it does in my hands. If I keep up that amount of progress, I'm not going to finish it by the end of this project. I don't usually reapply lip liner, but I might start. I probably won't. But I might.

~ NYX highlighter "Ritualistic": The area with pan looks a little bigger! That was my goal, and I'm going to consider it reached. At the end of the post, I'll show you what I'm replacing it with.

~ L'Oreal Infallible pro-matte foundation "101 Classic Ivory": No picture for this one since the product is sticking to the clear window of the packaging. It's starting to squirt a little bit at the end of the dollop I use for the day, so I need to shake it before squeezing it out of the tube. I think this one will be finished, maybe by the next update. I'll certainly miss it when it's gone.

I don't normally roll in products. Mostly because I'm burnt out by the time I finish a product that I just want to be freeeeee. However, after expanding the pan on "Ritualistic" I'm motivated to do some WORK on another highlighter. I initially purchased "Ritualistic" as a dupe for Becca "Moonstone". I have both, and don't need both. "Moonstone" already has pan on its' repressed self and I want to try to finish it up. Here's where I'm starting:

Goals for February: Progress? The only concrete progress I expect is to finish the "R" and get into the "S" on my NARS lipstick. And maybe finish my foundation. I'm just happy to be here.

December Empties

I finished 7 products in December, including 1 makeup product instead of all skincare! ~ Clinique take the day off cleansing balm sephora sample: It was odorless, and just oily enough to efficiently remove my eye makeup and mascara. Bonus, it didn't irritate my eyes. I got the full size for Christmas, but I'm going to try to make some progress on my Pond's cream before I crack into it. ~ Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask sample: I got the pack of deluxe sizes to try, and this mask took so long to finish, I'd never buy a full size. It smelled just like a pumpkin treat, so I enjoyed using it up in the fall/winter. ~ Too Cool for School egg mellow cream lotion: I used this as my morning moisturizer. It had a faintly sweet-lemon scent, which I enjoyed. The pump was nice, but I didn't know how much I had left until I went to pump it and it was empty :( ~ Clinique Welcome Wednesday deluxe lipstick from Christmas 2015: finally! I loved the brown-pink color, bu...

Fire & Ice Project Pan [Update #1]

The youtubers are uploading their updates, so here I am, tagging along for update #1! I think I had a pretty successful first month. I also used mostly deluxe sized samples, but eh, I'll take the morale boost. ~ Fire item: Firecracker from the Tartelette in Bloom palette. My goal for the first update was to wear down some of the lettering on it, and I made a decent-looking dent in the first few letters! I'm more of a stab my brush in one place until I see the pan kind of person rather than an even use kind of person, so I probably won't wear down the other letters. I've been wearing this as my lid shade for most of the days I wear makeup, so my next goal is to continue doing that. I suspect I might start to get sick of it, so hopefully I'll be able to keep going with it. ~ Ice item: Tarte smooth operator loose setting powder (deluxe sample size). My goal for this update was to be able to make another line to mark my progress. Unfortunately, the way I get the pro...

Healthy Habits Challenge - February 2020

I have the habit of spending too much of my money on makeup, and spending too much of my time browsing for makeup and consuming makeup-related media. To counteract this, I make myself "earn" my makeup budget by doing things that are better for my mental and physical health. Here's how I did for the month of February: Purchases: ~ I bought a birthday gift for a friend at Ulta - does not come out of budget ~ I repurchased my husband some dental floss (does not come out of this budget) at Sephora and got a Bobbi Brown lip gloss as a point perk - $0 ~ I purchased a full size of YSL Libre perfume since I loved the sample so much (giving myself grace on this purchase this month) and got the UD brow enhancer brow gel in "Brunette Betty" on sale (counts as a replacement since I destashed my other brow gel when it went bad) ~ ABH Jackie Aina palette - it was on sale at Sephora - I used a $20 gift card so I spent $14.10 Books read ($1 per 100 pages) ~ Cress  by M...
