Weekly Makeup Basket - January 06, 2019

This is the week in which you'll start seeing my Project Pan items...over and over again. Sorry bout it. My plan is to pair the Tartelette in Bloom with a different companion palette each week. I'm just really not the biggest fan of the Tarte shimmers. And from seeing my makeup baskets each week you probably already know that I like to sparkle. Anyway, here's this week's basket:

Base products:
~ Laura Mercier foundation primer "radiance"
~ L'Oreal pro-matte foundation "101 classic ivory"
~ Cover FX power play concealer "P light 2"
~ Too Faced Peach Mist setting spray

Face products:
~ Bite multistick "Gelato"
~ NYX highlighter "Ritualistic"
~ Benefit Hoola Lite
~ L'Oreal infallible pro-matte powder "100 porcelain"

Eye products:
~ Tarte Tartelette in Bloom
~ ABH Soft Glam palette - this has been pairing well with the In Bloom, but the looks have been pretty similar.
~ Clinique pretty easy eyeliner "01 black"
~ UD walk of shame waterline eyeliner
~ L'Oreal eyeliner "highlight"
~ Dior Diorshow Pump 'N' Volume mascara - just started this mini, I think it was a point perk from Sephora. It's a little clumpier than I normally like, and I'm going to feel ridiculous typing that name out each week until I finish it.
~ Lorac eyeshadow primer

Brow products:
~ ABH brow definer "medium brown" - I know the brow wiz is more popular, but I've been finding this one easier to work with.
~ ABH tinted brow gel "espresso"

Lip products:
~ Rimmel lipliner "Wild Clover"
~ NARS Audacious lipstick "Anita"

December Empties

I finished 7 products in December, including 1 makeup product instead of all skincare! ~ Clinique take the day off cleansing balm sephora sample: It was odorless, and just oily enough to efficiently remove my eye makeup and mascara. Bonus, it didn't irritate my eyes. I got the full size for Christmas, but I'm going to try to make some progress on my Pond's cream before I crack into it. ~ Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask sample: I got the pack of deluxe sizes to try, and this mask took so long to finish, I'd never buy a full size. It smelled just like a pumpkin treat, so I enjoyed using it up in the fall/winter. ~ Too Cool for School egg mellow cream lotion: I used this as my morning moisturizer. It had a faintly sweet-lemon scent, which I enjoyed. The pump was nice, but I didn't know how much I had left until I went to pump it and it was empty :( ~ Clinique Welcome Wednesday deluxe lipstick from Christmas 2015: finally! I loved the brown-pink color, bu...

Fire & Ice Project Pan [Update #1]

The youtubers are uploading their updates, so here I am, tagging along for update #1! I think I had a pretty successful first month. I also used mostly deluxe sized samples, but eh, I'll take the morale boost. ~ Fire item: Firecracker from the Tartelette in Bloom palette. My goal for the first update was to wear down some of the lettering on it, and I made a decent-looking dent in the first few letters! I'm more of a stab my brush in one place until I see the pan kind of person rather than an even use kind of person, so I probably won't wear down the other letters. I've been wearing this as my lid shade for most of the days I wear makeup, so my next goal is to continue doing that. I suspect I might start to get sick of it, so hopefully I'll be able to keep going with it. ~ Ice item: Tarte smooth operator loose setting powder (deluxe sample size). My goal for this update was to be able to make another line to mark my progress. Unfortunately, the way I get the pro...

Healthy Habits Challenge - February 2020

I have the habit of spending too much of my money on makeup, and spending too much of my time browsing for makeup and consuming makeup-related media. To counteract this, I make myself "earn" my makeup budget by doing things that are better for my mental and physical health. Here's how I did for the month of February: Purchases: ~ I bought a birthday gift for a friend at Ulta - does not come out of budget ~ I repurchased my husband some dental floss (does not come out of this budget) at Sephora and got a Bobbi Brown lip gloss as a point perk - $0 ~ I purchased a full size of YSL Libre perfume since I loved the sample so much (giving myself grace on this purchase this month) and got the UD brow enhancer brow gel in "Brunette Betty" on sale (counts as a replacement since I destashed my other brow gel when it went bad) ~ ABH Jackie Aina palette - it was on sale at Sephora - I used a $20 gift card so I spent $14.10 Books read ($1 per 100 pages) ~ Cress  by M...
