November Empties (& 2 bonus pans!)

From top left:
Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation moisturizer (deluxe sample from Sephora Play): this was lightweight and didn't make me feel greasy. I would consider repurchasing this in the full size.
Boscia charcoal sheet mask: it was relaxing to do a sheet mask. I guess my face felt softer afterwards? Might repurchase, but there are probably cheaper options out there.
Elizabeth & James Nirvana bourbon sample: I love this scent. It's dark and sweet and kind of vanilla. I've already purchased a rollerball of this.
Atelier cologne Sud Magnolia sample: this was nice at first. It's kind of an androgynous scent that was a little too strong for me after a while. I would not repurchase this in a larger size.
Boscia makeup breakup cleansing oil sample: this was decent at taking off my eye makeup, but I wasn't a huge fan of the white cast it left over my eyes when it got in them. I probably would not purchase a larger size.
Lancer face polish foil sample: this was a nice exfoliant with a pleasant herbal scent. I don't have strong feelings about this either way.
Philosophy purity face cleanser foil sample: I liked this cleanser! It was gentle and had nice, light scent and texture. I would repurchase this if I ever run out of face wash samples.

I hit another pan in the original Lorac Pro palette! This time in "Champagne". I use it on my lower lashline to add some sparkle.

I also hit pan in my Laura Mercier pressed translucent setting powder! Now I'm going to work on expanding it.

Healthy Habits Challenge - February 2020

I have the habit of spending too much of my money on makeup, and spending too much of my time browsing for makeup and consuming makeup-related media. To counteract this, I make myself "earn" my makeup budget by doing things that are better for my mental and physical health. Here's how I did for the month of February: Purchases: ~ I bought a birthday gift for a friend at Ulta - does not come out of budget ~ I repurchased my husband some dental floss (does not come out of this budget) at Sephora and got a Bobbi Brown lip gloss as a point perk - $0 ~ I purchased a full size of YSL Libre perfume since I loved the sample so much (giving myself grace on this purchase this month) and got the UD brow enhancer brow gel in "Brunette Betty" on sale (counts as a replacement since I destashed my other brow gel when it went bad) ~ ABH Jackie Aina palette - it was on sale at Sephora - I used a $20 gift card so I spent $14.10 Books read ($1 per 100 pages) ~ Cress  by M...

December Empties

I finished 7 products in December, including 1 makeup product instead of all skincare! ~ Clinique take the day off cleansing balm sephora sample: It was odorless, and just oily enough to efficiently remove my eye makeup and mascara. Bonus, it didn't irritate my eyes. I got the full size for Christmas, but I'm going to try to make some progress on my Pond's cream before I crack into it. ~ Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask sample: I got the pack of deluxe sizes to try, and this mask took so long to finish, I'd never buy a full size. It smelled just like a pumpkin treat, so I enjoyed using it up in the fall/winter. ~ Too Cool for School egg mellow cream lotion: I used this as my morning moisturizer. It had a faintly sweet-lemon scent, which I enjoyed. The pump was nice, but I didn't know how much I had left until I went to pump it and it was empty :( ~ Clinique Welcome Wednesday deluxe lipstick from Christmas 2015: finally! I loved the brown-pink color, bu...

A Rambly Intro

"Come on, girl! You only have one face!" It's what I tell myself when I start aimlessly shopping for makeup. In the last year, I developed a bit of a shopping addiction, specifically makeup shopping.Writing a blog is my effort to keep myself accountable to start focusing less on buying. I'm going to focus more on using, first and foremost, and then on adding thoughtfully to my makeup wardrobe. This blog is most likely going to be my online makeup-focused diary. I don't have that many people to discuss this with in real life. And somehow posting a blog feels more anonymous than posting on reddit. (If you're interested in any makeup/usage discussion, head to r/makeuprehab or r/muacjdiscussion - some of those subreddit themes will likely influence my ramblings.) Here's a bit what to expect from me: empties posts, reviews, and random thoughts. The word "haul" is dangerous for me, but I might occasionally talk about items I've purchased recent...
