Weekly Makeup Basket - December 23, 2018

This is my "free for all week" before I jump back into project pan items next week. Unfortunately, I worked Christmas this year (I'm a nurse, so holidays and weekends off are not a guaranteed thing). This picture is also a look at how my makeup basket normally looks before I spruce it up for the weekly photo. Base products: ~ Lancome teint idole "90 Ivore" - surprisingly too light on me. It was a near perfect match when I tried it on in Ulta, which makes me very wary of their lighting now. Luckily I only got a sample. ~ Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi sample - used for mixing with the foundation, and it's been working pretty well so far. ~ Tatcha silk canvas primer ~ L'Oreal Magic Lumi highlighter pen "860 Fair" - I use this as an under-eye concealer ~ Mac Fix+ - not a great setting spray, but decent for foiling eyeshadow ~ Cover FX perfect setting powder "Translucent Light" Face products: ~ Benefit Hoola Lite bronzer ~ NARS bl

6 by Spring Project Pan Intro

Wait, didn't you just do a "6 by Something" project pan? Yep. And I'm doing it again. This is one of the more traditional seasonal project pans I've seen, and six products seemed like a good number for me from the last project (update coming soon). I first got into the makeup community about three years ago in the winter/spring and some of my original loved products are starting to age. I want to use this product to show some love to the older products in my collection. Thus you may see more progress than actual panning throughout this project. I'll start with a picture of all the products together, then I'll get into my goals for each of them. Seeing them all together, there's a lot of pinky-neutral in here. Hopefully that'll make this extra-usable.  ~ Tarte Tartelette in Bloom: this was my first mid-range eyeshadow palette. I purchased it when I was still in college, so it was very high-end for me at the time. Now it's kind of me

Weekly Makeup Basket - December 16, 2018

I've missed a few weeks due to travel and generally prioritizing other things. Anyway, here's what I'm using this week! You may notice that some of my Finish 6 by Christmas products are missing - yay! Looking forward to posting that update next week. Base products: ~ Dr Jart+ BB cream ~ Cover FX Power Play concealer "P Light 2" ~ Laura Mercier radiance primer ~ Too Faced Peach Mist ~ Tarte Smooth Operator setting powder Face products: ~ Becca highlighter "Moonstone" ~ NARS blush "deep throat" ~ Benefit Hoola Lite bronzer Eye products: ~ Lorac eye primer ~ Colourpop Yes Please palette - I put this in the basket this week to decide if I still wanted to keep it, and so far I've really been enjoying the looks I've created with this. ~ Clinique pretty easy eyeliner "black" ~ UD waterline eyeliner "walk of shame" ~ L'Oreal eyeliner "highlight" ~ Estee Lauder mascara Brow products: ~ A

Makeup Inventory - December 2018 (this time with pictures!)

Quite a few of the beauty Youtubers I watch have announced no-buys or low-buys for the coming year. After taking these pictures, I'm starting to wonder if I should do the same. My Healthy Habits Challenge has certainly started to get my spending a little more under control, and it has definitely helped balance my life and hobbies. But I still have so much darn makeup. Maybe not in comparison to people who review or apply cosmetics for a living, but a lot more than, say, my mom who has one, maybe two bathroom drawers of assorted goods and tools. It has likely been clear since I started this blog that I am not a professional, merely an enthusiast with a spending problem. Onto the pictures! I split it up into categories, and I'll include tallies, but I won't go into each and every shade I have. Ain't nobody got time for that. I also didn't include foil samples, but deluxe and travel sizes are included. ~ Eye primer - 1 - starting off strong ~ Face primer - 4 -

November 2018 Empties

Another small round-up for this month. I'm still making an effort to work through my samples, and that's going well! ~ YSL Black Opium sample - yes, I still have these. Still enjoying making my way through using these up. ~ Juliette Has A Gun "Another Oud" - This smells like a fancy cigar and had pretty good lasting power. I enjoyed the sample but probably would not purchase a larger size. I don't really want to be known for smelling like a cigar. ~ Cristophe Robin purifying shampoo - Since my recent move, my hair has been a greasy mess (I think it hates the water in my new home state). This shampoo has been a lifesaver - my hair feels like normal hair again! I've already purchased a full size. ~ Too Faced Hangover Rx primer - finished as part of my project pan, didn't like this, wouldn't buy this. ~ Erborian CC cream "fair" - It was pretty nice, but didn't have a lot of coverage (as expected). If I ever want another CC cream it
