Pan Those Eyeshadows project pan - September 2019 update

This project is part of my effort to get visible progress out of my makeup. I randomly selected five shadows to start, and as soon as I reach my goal (usually hitting pan), I can rotate in a different randomly-selected shadow. Here's how I did over the past month: 1 & 2) "Sin" and "Naked" from Urban Decay Naked palette - Yep, these will be here forever. Honestly, I'm considering moving out "Naked" next month if I don't hit pan by the next update. Six months is long enough to make significant progress, I think. I'm still chipping away at "Sin" by using it for my inner corner highlight, and it usually works well for that. It's just a little too cool for the colors I'm working with for lid shades, but I'm making it work. 3) "Chauffeur" from Colourpop Yes Please palette - I'm personally getting a little sick of the orange look, but I've been getting compliments when I wear it. Fall Beauty Focus - September 2019

I've enjoyed getting back into project panning and seeing progress on my makeup. Unfortunately, I can't help but feel as if I'm neglecting the rest of my collection when I'm focusing on a select amount of items for so long. For the month of September I plan to focus on a handful of items that either don't get enough love or need to be finished and leave. Like a combination "shop my stash"/"chopping block"/"project pan" and in the short-term. Because I have a lot of makeup and a short attention span, apparently. Here are the five items I'll be making an effort to use during the month of September. 1) Buxom Va-Va Plump liquid lipstick in "Lights Down" - Sorry for my awkward hand, I thought a swatch would be nice. This is a great fall color since it's a warm rusty red/orange. I know it's not technically Autumn yet, but it's September and I AM READY. I don't use this that often in other seasons, so I'd

Empties - August 2019

I'm kind of disappointed in how little I was able to move out this past month. I'm guessing it's because I'm finally out of foil packets and now I have to use up deluxe and full sizes of products. ~ Nest "ocean mist & coconut water" perfume sample - I loved this. It smelled like grapefruit and coconuts. If I hadn't tried it at the tail end of summer I would have been sorely tempted to purchase it. I still have another sample, so I'll revisit next year and see it I still feel the same. ~ Tory Burch perfume sample - This was one of those fresh & clean type scents that pull very sharp on me, and I wasn't a fan. Would not purchase. ~ GrandeLips hydrating lip plumper mini - Finished in my "5 by Fall" project pan, and I discuss it in that post. ~ Murad retinol youth renewal serum - I found that this did have some smoothing effects on my skin, and I enjoyed having it in my nighttime routine. This is pretty expensive so I don&#

Healthy Habits Challenge - August 2019

I have the habit of spending too much of my money on makeup, and spending too much of my time browsing for makeup and consuming makeup-related media. To counteract this, I make myself "earn" my makeup budget by doing things that are better for my mental and physical health. Here's how I did for the month of August. Purchases: ~ Stila Shimmer&Glow liquid eyeshadow in "Grace" and "La Douce" from Marshalls - $18 ~ Too Faced peach setting powder mini and NARS "Dolce Vita" lipstick from Sephora during the summer 20% off sale, plus I had a gift card - $12.80 (I also purchased my usual Cristophe Robin purifying shampoo, but I consider that a hygiene product and it doesn't come out of my budget) ~ Juvia's Place I am Magic foundation - I got suckered in at the newly-opened Ulta with displays of makeup I never get to see in person - $17.86 Books read ($1 per 100 pages) ~ The Rosie Effect  by Graeme Simsion - 108 pages ($1.08) - I co
