Makeup Inventory 2019

It's that time of year again, when I take everything out of its' storage on my desk and in various purses and toss it all in one place for the purpose of shaming myself and sharing it with the internet. I couldn't decide if  wanted to start or end with what I like to refer to as the "Dragon Pile" - everything shoved in a giant pile all together, much like a dragon's collection of hoarded treasure - and I think I'm going to end with it to pull this all together. I'll start with the most reasonably-sized category, and we'll move toward excess. ~ Eyeshadow primer - 1 - Bonus, it's a different one from last year since I used that one up. ~ Lip primer - 1 - Another product for which I feel like I only need one. ~ Contour - 1- I had this weird kick during which I was convinced that I had to  learn to contour and needed the perfect product. And then I bought a thing, and never got into it. So I'll keep it so I'm not tempted to buy

Pan Those Eyeshadows Project Pan - 2019 Finale

I know I've only been doing this project since April, but I'm going to wrap up my usage of at least these particular shadows. I'm not sure yet if I'll restart in January or if I'll do something totally different, so stay tuned. Here's how the remaining shadows look after one more month of use: 1. "Rose Quartz" from Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry palette - I hit pan! 2. "Sin" from Urban Decay Naked palette - Still no pan; it would probably take me forever to hit pan on this. I really like it as an inner corner highlight, so I'm still using it. But unofficially. 3. "Light My World" a single from Sydney Grace - I have a significant dip in this, but no pan showing. Considering it's one of the newest shadows in my collection, I'm happy with that. 4. "Dione" a single from NARS - I don't think I had used this at all before putting it into the project, and now it at least looks used. Since I got it

Products I've Hit Pan On

The last time I posted something like this was in February 2018 If you'd like to read or re-read that post, click on this text. Here are the items that currently have pan - for a comparison between the last post and now, look after the pictures. ~ NYX "Ritualistic" highlighter - pan on this has definitely expanded since the last update, and it's still one of my favorite highlighters ~ Revlon "Naughty Nude" blush - The pan has also increased on this product. I have so much blush in my collection compared to the last post, that I think it'll take a long time before I hit pan on any other blush. ~ Benefit "Hoola Lite" bronzer - For such a substantially-sized pan, I'm surprised this wasn't in the last post, honestly. ~ Colourpop "Bouncy" super shock shadow ~ Colourpop "Fluffy" super shock shadow ~ Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario - pan on "NYC" "Kim" "Mus

Empties - November 2019

I was on a roll with the skincare during the past month. I'm getting to the point at which I might have to actually purchase certain types of items again because I've run out of backups. I'm not quite there, but I can see it coming. Here's what I used up in the month of November: ~ Clinique Take the Day Off cleansing balm - This continues to be a staple product for me, and I have already repurchased. ~ Juliet Has A Gun "Moscow Mule" sample - I used up a sample last month as well, and I still really like this fragrance. Most of the scents I love are more Fall/Winter scents, so I have some perfume already in my collection to get some use on before I think about purchasing this one. But I might in the future. ~ Viktor & Rolf "Flowerbomb" sample - This is really popular, or at least heavily promoted at Sephora, and that's honestly its' biggest drawback. It's a spicy/sweet kind of scent that I really enjoy, but it doesn't fee

Healthy Habits Challenge - November 2019

I have the habit of spending too much of my money on makeup, and spending too much of my time browsing for makeup and consuming makeup-related media. To counteract this, I make myself "earn" my makeup budget by doing things that are better for my mental and physical health. Here's how I did for the month of November: Purchases: ~ Sephora VIB Rouge sale order: gifts x2 (won't list in case I ruin any surprises), Drunk Elephant C-firma serum set (considering this a replacement, since I just finished one), Replica "by the fireplace" travel size perfume (with the sale $22); Dyson air-wrap styler (hair tools and appliances weren't necessarily required to come out of the budget so I'm going to say it doesn't; suffice it to say I'm set on hair appliances for a good long while) ~ Mario Badescu glycolic foaming cleanser - this was a replacement, so it doesn't come out of the budget (I finally made it through my backstock of cleanser!) Pan Those Eyeshadows project pan - November 2019 update

This project is part of my effort to get visible progress out of my makeup. I randomly selected five shadows to start, and as soon as I reach my goal (usually hitting pan), I can rotate in a different randomly-selected shadow. Here's how I did over the past month: 1) "Sin" from Urban Decay Naked palette - Still here, trucking along. I can't see a ton of progress on this, but I'm still using it every time I do my eye makeup as my inner corner highlight. 2) "Rose Quartz" from Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry palette - I feel like I've been super close to hitting pan on this for a while. Since I've been using my fingers to apply, I've made a wider dip more than a deep one, so hopefully I'll be able to hit pan this upcoming month. 3&4) "Light My World" (right) & "Wildlife" (left) singles by Sydney Grace - I'm still loving "Light My World" both over a green base and by itself. I can only real
