Project Use It Up - update

Here's what my checklist looked like at the end of April. There are more pictures of certain products I thought would be interesting to see. Some of them aren't pictured either because they'd be boring or because I've since finished them off. I'll probably end up spoiling which is which. As a reminder, the ones with checks have been finished and the ones with blank circles are still in progress. As I meet my goals, I add in a new one at the end of the list. Between each month, I'll take off the ones completed at the last update so this list doesn't become unmanageably long. Here's what we're working with for May:  - I used up two candles, and I was sad to see the "Happy" candle go. My scent-hating fiance actually enjoyed that one too. Maybe someday I won't have 7 million candles and I can repurchase it. - The items in progress at the beginning are going to take a long time. I got ambitious with the full-sized items. - I fi

Healthy Habits Challenge April 2018 (formerly labeled Reading Challenge)

I decided to rename this activity to better suit its purpose. I want to replace makeup purchasing and makeup Youtube watching with more enriching activities. As a way to (hopefully) rein in my spending on makeup and encourage other activities I get money towards my makeup budget from reading, running, and learning Spanish on Duolingo. Purchases: ~ MAC Instant Artistry Lip Prep Nude Kit - $19.75        this was an Ulta 21 Days of Beauty impulse buy. I wanted to try MAC products and I thought I might like Velvet Teddy, so I did it. Hopefully I won't regret it. ~ Jo Malone sampler set - $82 (I had a gift card and I'm not counting that.) Yes, I need to work on my positive coping skills. I'm a work in progress. ~ Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color in "Plum" - impulse purchase from Belk since I had heard good things about them. I went in "just to swatch." That always works out the same way. - $24 (at least it was on sale?) ~ Tatcha kit and mini Hourglass Dim

April 2018 Empties

I finished off quite a few large items this month, and my skincare minis drawer is looking a little more sparse. My mission to use up all my stuff before I move is coming along nicely (another series of posts, I know).  ~ Clinique pep-start hydroblur moisturizer - I remember enjoying this more the last time I used it. I felt like it sat on top of my skin more than it sank in. I've also been using a blurring sunscreen, so I felt a bit too blurred this month. ~ Christophe Robin salt scrub - This was a nice scalp scrub. I couldn't use it too often since it dried out my hair. I also find salt crystals in my ears for days afterward, though that's more user error. I might repurchase the travel size. ~ liquid Beauty Blender cleanser - I didn't want to like an overpriced brush cleaner, but it gets my sponge so much cleaner than the baby shampoo I currently use. I might repurchase at some point. ~ Vanilla Bean Noel lotion - Finally finished the Christmas lotion. Fun
