Reading Challenge December 2017

I'm going to try out an incentive system for buying makeup products. For every 100 pages I read, I get $1 towards non-replacement purchases. So far, I'm starting in the negatives. My fiance has also issued a bonus challenge - he'll give me $3 for every mile I run. For my current fitness abilities, I'm doing $3 per mile exercised (I'm currently working off of a walk/run interval program). Hopefully, I'll be able to replace buying makeup with more fulfilling hobbies.

Purchases:
~ Anastasia Beverly Hills 7B eyebrow brush: I got this with my December Sephora coupon. The other item was a gift, so it won't be included in the total; also it was for a Secret Santa with a $25 limit, so assuming the other one was $25, this is the balance: $3.43
~ Becca Rose Quartz highlight: I really wanted this last year, but held out and regretted it. So when it came back recently, I just got it. With tax, it was $40.01
~ Algenist Genius Sampler Set: I've gotten a few foil samples and have wanted to try more of this line. I also had a 20% off coupon and wanted to hit Platinum at Ulta (which I did with this purchase). I'm a little bit ashamed of this one, I have to admit. I spent $63.18 on this - that's a lot of reading.

Fire & Ice Project Pan [Update #1]

The youtubers are uploading their updates, so here I am, tagging along for update #1! I think I had a pretty successful first month. I also used mostly deluxe sized samples, but eh, I'll take the morale boost. ~ Fire item: Firecracker from the Tartelette in Bloom palette. My goal for the first update was to wear down some of the lettering on it, and I made a decent-looking dent in the first few letters! I'm more of a stab my brush in one place until I see the pan kind of person rather than an even use kind of person, so I probably won't wear down the other letters. I've been wearing this as my lid shade for most of the days I wear makeup, so my next goal is to continue doing that. I suspect I might start to get sick of it, so hopefully I'll be able to keep going with it. ~ Ice item: Tarte smooth operator loose setting powder (deluxe sample size). December Empties

I finished 7 products in December, including 1 makeup product instead of all skincare! ~ Clinique take the day off cleansing balm sephora sample: It was odorless, and just oily enough to efficiently remove my eye makeup and mascara. Bonus, it didn't irritate my eyes. I got the full size for Christmas, but I'm going to try to make some progress on my Pond's cream before I crack into it. ~ Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask sample: I got the pack of deluxe sizes to try, and this mask took so long to finish, I'd never buy a full size. It smelled just like a pumpkin treat, so I enjoyed using it up in the fall/winter. ~ Too Cool for School egg mellow cream lotion: I used this as my morning moisturizer. It had a faintly sweet-lemon scent, which I enjoyed. November 2017 Empties

I'm happy with my skincare progress this past month. My system for using up perfume samples is also still going well, even though the darn things keep coming in. Per usual, here's a picture to be followed by mini-reviews and thoughts: ~ Stella McCartney sample card - I remember this as being a nice floral. Something I would use a sample of, but not necessarily buy. ~ J'Adore by Dior sample card - this smells like perfume to me. I couldn't really discern any specific notes. That said, it smells nice. I probably would not purchase this, partly because it doesn't come in a rollerball. ~ Elizabeth & James Nirvana Amethyst sample - The tobacco flower notes made me smell a bit like a smoker. A powdery smoker.
