6 By Spring Project Pan - Update #2

I went on vacation for a week this past month. During that week, I a) didn't bring all the project items with me and b) didn't wear makeup all that month.

~ Tarte Tartelette in Bloom: man, these pans are firmly pressed. Or I don't wear enough eyeshadow. Probably a combination of the two. Same dips in the same shades, except maybe slightly deeper? I tried.

~ NARS Audacious lipstick "Anita": I was hoping to get through the "R" and into the "S" on the side of the bullet. Clearly, I didn't get there. Probably won't finish this in the month I have left, but I'm happy to see steady progress.

~ Bite multistick "Gelato": After giving this a closer I look, I'm beginning to question the progress line I drew last month. I feel like I junked up the sides of it, but have made no progress on the top (except some weird hard pan-like buildup). I'm getting a little bored of it, so I didn't bring this with me on vacation. I'll keep on with it through the end of the project, but I don't think I'll see much more progress.

~ Rimmel lipliner "Wild Clover": More steady progress, so I'm happy with that. I'll keep using it to see where I get.

~ Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter Pressed "Moonstone": This is a travel size that was already re-pressed once. Nevertheless, I'm happy to see expanded pan. I'm getting to the point where I might re-press it again since the pan is pretty much the shape and size of my brush, so now I'm doing some creating angling to get product. As a side note, I have to make a conscious effort to add the hyphen to "re-press" since talking about repressing your makeup is a different story altogether.

~ L'Oreal Pro-matte foundation "101 - Classic Ivory": If you read my empties post, you already know that I finished this about 2 days after posting my last update. It really was my favorite foundation, and I'll likely repurchase it at some point. I'm not going to roll anything in to replace it.

Goals for next month:
~ make it to the "S" on Anita
~ re-press and progress on Moonstone
~ keep on keepin' on with everything else

Healthy Habits Challenge - February 2020

I have the habit of spending too much of my money on makeup, and spending too much of my time browsing for makeup and consuming makeup-related media. To counteract this, I make myself "earn" my makeup budget by doing things that are better for my mental and physical health. Here's how I did for the month of February: Purchases: ~ I bought a birthday gift for a friend at Ulta - does not come out of budget ~ I repurchased my husband some dental floss (does not come out of this budget) at Sephora and got a Bobbi Brown lip gloss as a point perk - $0 ~ I purchased a full size of YSL Libre perfume since I loved the sample so much (giving myself grace on this purchase this month) and got the UD brow enhancer brow gel in "Brunette Betty" on sale (counts as a replacement since I destashed my other brow gel when it went bad) ~ ABH Jackie Aina palette - it was on sale at Sephora - I used a $20 gift card so I spent $14.10 Books read ($1 per 100 pages) ~ Cress  by M...

December Empties

I finished 7 products in December, including 1 makeup product instead of all skincare! ~ Clinique take the day off cleansing balm sephora sample: It was odorless, and just oily enough to efficiently remove my eye makeup and mascara. Bonus, it didn't irritate my eyes. I got the full size for Christmas, but I'm going to try to make some progress on my Pond's cream before I crack into it. ~ Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask sample: I got the pack of deluxe sizes to try, and this mask took so long to finish, I'd never buy a full size. It smelled just like a pumpkin treat, so I enjoyed using it up in the fall/winter. ~ Too Cool for School egg mellow cream lotion: I used this as my morning moisturizer. It had a faintly sweet-lemon scent, which I enjoyed. The pump was nice, but I didn't know how much I had left until I went to pump it and it was empty :( ~ Clinique Welcome Wednesday deluxe lipstick from Christmas 2015: finally! I loved the brown-pink color, bu...

A Rambly Intro

"Come on, girl! You only have one face!" It's what I tell myself when I start aimlessly shopping for makeup. In the last year, I developed a bit of a shopping addiction, specifically makeup shopping.Writing a blog is my effort to keep myself accountable to start focusing less on buying. I'm going to focus more on using, first and foremost, and then on adding thoughtfully to my makeup wardrobe. This blog is most likely going to be my online makeup-focused diary. I don't have that many people to discuss this with in real life. And somehow posting a blog feels more anonymous than posting on reddit. (If you're interested in any makeup/usage discussion, head to r/makeuprehab or r/muacjdiscussion - some of those subreddit themes will likely influence my ramblings.) Here's a bit what to expect from me: empties posts, reviews, and random thoughts. The word "haul" is dangerous for me, but I might occasionally talk about items I've purchased recent...
