December 2018 Empties

Y'all. This month looks pitiful compared to past months. I suspect it's because I've mainly been using full-sized skincare so I'm not blazing through as much as I have been.

~ It cosmetics secret sauce moisturizer sample - was a little too much for my oily skin. would not repurchase.
~ Mario Badescu herbal rehydrating serum sample set - this was a gel moisturizer, so it's no surprise that I liked this one. Might try it again in the future, but I have a lot of moisturizer to go through first.
~ 2 Sephora samples of Commodity Gold perfume - this is a warm, sweet scent that I really enjoy and I currently have a travel-size spray.
~ Living Proof perfect hair day shampoo - if you remember when I finished the conditioner, you'll recall that I hated this pair of shampoo and conditioner and I used it up as a shaving cream. Would not repurchase.
~ Estee Lauder sumptuous infinite mascara - this has a plastic bristle brush, which I normally don't like, but this one grew on me. I couldn't find this one the Sephora or Ulta websites so I probably wouldn't end up getting this again.
~ Lancome teint idole foundation sample in 90 Ivory - This was way too light for me, which is disappointing because it was such a great match in the store. It also didn't wear very well throughout the day - it started looking caky and heavy later in the day. Would not repurchase.
~ Buxom "Dolly" - I finished this in my 6 by Christmas project pan. I like this lipgloss formula and have one full size and another mini, albeit in different shades, so I don't feel any need to repurchase this.
~ Bite double-ended lipstick in "Pepper" and "Bronze" - I finished Pepper in the same project and enjoyed it. The Amuse Bouche formula is moisturizing, wears well, and reapplies nicely. I just have so much lipstick that I don't know if it's the best idea to get something "natural" with "food grade ingredients" if I can't necessarily use it up quickly.

Fire & Ice Project Pan [Update #1]

The youtubers are uploading their updates, so here I am, tagging along for update #1! I think I had a pretty successful first month. I also used mostly deluxe sized samples, but eh, I'll take the morale boost. ~ Fire item: Firecracker from the Tartelette in Bloom palette. My goal for the first update was to wear down some of the lettering on it, and I made a decent-looking dent in the first few letters! I'm more of a stab my brush in one place until I see the pan kind of person rather than an even use kind of person, so I probably won't wear down the other letters. I've been wearing this as my lid shade for most of the days I wear makeup, so my next goal is to continue doing that. I suspect I might start to get sick of it, so hopefully I'll be able to keep going with it. ~ Ice item: Tarte smooth operator loose setting powder (deluxe sample size). My goal for this update was to be able to make another line to mark my progress. Unfortunately, the way I get the pro...

December Empties

I finished 7 products in December, including 1 makeup product instead of all skincare! ~ Clinique take the day off cleansing balm sephora sample: It was odorless, and just oily enough to efficiently remove my eye makeup and mascara. Bonus, it didn't irritate my eyes. I got the full size for Christmas, but I'm going to try to make some progress on my Pond's cream before I crack into it. ~ Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask sample: I got the pack of deluxe sizes to try, and this mask took so long to finish, I'd never buy a full size. It smelled just like a pumpkin treat, so I enjoyed using it up in the fall/winter. ~ Too Cool for School egg mellow cream lotion: I used this as my morning moisturizer. It had a faintly sweet-lemon scent, which I enjoyed. The pump was nice, but I didn't know how much I had left until I went to pump it and it was empty :( ~ Clinique Welcome Wednesday deluxe lipstick from Christmas 2015: finally! I loved the brown-pink color, bu...
