Weekly Makeup Basket - November 25, 2018

I'm trying out a few new things this week, which has been a fun contrast from my Project Pan items each week.

Base products:
~ L'Oreal infallible pro matte foundation "101 classic ivory"
~ Becca velvet blurring primer - new item, not sure about its' blurring abilities, but it has been giving my skin a nice texture before applying foundation. It's straight liquid though, and I was not prepared for the force of the pump. My desk was also not prepared. RIP November desk calendar.
~ NARS radiant creamy concealer "light 2 vanilla"
~ Too Faced Peach Mist setting spray
~ L'Oreal infallible pro matte setting powder "100 porcelain" - another new product. This has done a really nice job of keeping me matte during the day. Which is what you would expect, given the name of the line. Since I've been breaking out a bit lately, it's also been nice to have a little extra coverage.

Face products:
~ NARS blush "Orgasm"
~ NYX highlighter "Ritualistic"
~ Benefit Hoola Lite bronzer

Eye products:
~ ABH Master Palette by Mario
~ Tarte Tartelette in Bloom
~ Lorac eyeshadow primer
~ Jesse's Girl liquid eyeliner - I've had this for a while, haven't used it, and just now remembered it's already open. It has a thin brush tip and has been working nicely for me.
~ Urban Decay waterline eyeliner "walk of shame"
~ L'Oreal eyeliner "highlight"
~ Estee Lauder mascara

Brow products:
~ ABH brow wiz "Medium Brown"
~ Benefit gimme brow "03"

Lip products:
~ Bite lipstick "Pepper"
~ Buxom lipgloss "Dolly"
~ Rimmel lipliner "Wild Clover"

Healthy Habits Challenge - February 2020

I have the habit of spending too much of my money on makeup, and spending too much of my time browsing for makeup and consuming makeup-related media. To counteract this, I make myself "earn" my makeup budget by doing things that are better for my mental and physical health. Here's how I did for the month of February: Purchases: ~ I bought a birthday gift for a friend at Ulta - does not come out of budget ~ I repurchased my husband some dental floss (does not come out of this budget) at Sephora and got a Bobbi Brown lip gloss as a point perk - $0 ~ I purchased a full size of YSL Libre perfume since I loved the sample so much (giving myself grace on this purchase this month) and got the UD brow enhancer brow gel in "Brunette Betty" on sale (counts as a replacement since I destashed my other brow gel when it went bad) ~ ABH Jackie Aina palette - it was on sale at Sephora - I used a $20 gift card so I spent $14.10 Books read ($1 per 100 pages) ~ Cress  by M...

December Empties

I finished 7 products in December, including 1 makeup product instead of all skincare! ~ Clinique take the day off cleansing balm sephora sample: It was odorless, and just oily enough to efficiently remove my eye makeup and mascara. Bonus, it didn't irritate my eyes. I got the full size for Christmas, but I'm going to try to make some progress on my Pond's cream before I crack into it. ~ Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask sample: I got the pack of deluxe sizes to try, and this mask took so long to finish, I'd never buy a full size. It smelled just like a pumpkin treat, so I enjoyed using it up in the fall/winter. ~ Too Cool for School egg mellow cream lotion: I used this as my morning moisturizer. It had a faintly sweet-lemon scent, which I enjoyed. The pump was nice, but I didn't know how much I had left until I went to pump it and it was empty :( ~ Clinique Welcome Wednesday deluxe lipstick from Christmas 2015: finally! I loved the brown-pink color, bu...

A Rambly Intro

"Come on, girl! You only have one face!" It's what I tell myself when I start aimlessly shopping for makeup. In the last year, I developed a bit of a shopping addiction, specifically makeup shopping.Writing a blog is my effort to keep myself accountable to start focusing less on buying. I'm going to focus more on using, first and foremost, and then on adding thoughtfully to my makeup wardrobe. This blog is most likely going to be my online makeup-focused diary. I don't have that many people to discuss this with in real life. And somehow posting a blog feels more anonymous than posting on reddit. (If you're interested in any makeup/usage discussion, head to r/makeuprehab or r/muacjdiscussion - some of those subreddit themes will likely influence my ramblings.) Here's a bit what to expect from me: empties posts, reviews, and random thoughts. The word "haul" is dangerous for me, but I might occasionally talk about items I've purchased recent...
