Healthy Habits Challenge - April 2019

Purchases:
~ Sunday Riley "Power Couple" duo (includes Good Genes and Luna oil) - $85
~ Wet n Wild dual-ended contour stick - $4 - I wanted to learn to contour, and though I've been tempted by mid-range contour kits, I started small and drugstore. If I end up liking the technique, maybe I'll get something else. If I don't, then I'm not out too much money. Since this was during the 20% coupon time I also got staple replacements that don't come out of this budget (cotton facial pads, loofah, dry shampoo, & body sunscreen)
~ Olly Skin Detox vitamins (don't judge me) and Sephora Favorites summer sun on the fly kit - $32 during the Sephora sale - I also got a mother's day gift and dental floss for my husband (that man loves Cocofloss, what can I say), both of which don't come out of this budget.

November 2017 Empties

I'm happy with my skincare progress this past month. My system for using up perfume samples is also still going well, even though the darn things keep coming in. Per usual, here's a picture to be followed by mini-reviews and thoughts: ~ Stella McCartney sample card - I remember this as being a nice floral. Something I would use a sample of, but not necessarily buy. ~ J'Adore by Dior sample card - this smells like perfume to me. I couldn't really discern any specific notes. That said, it smells nice. I probably would not purchase this, partly because it doesn't come in a rollerball. ~ Elizabeth & James Nirvana Amethyst sample - The tobacco flower notes made me smell a bit like a smoker. A powdery smoker. Would not purchase. ~ Josie Maran finishing balm - will discuss in project pan update ~ Urban Decay "Stark Naked" - will discuss in project pan update ~ Maybelline FitMe concealer in 15/fair - This grew on me. It looks a bit too warm right of...

December Empties

I finished 7 products in December, including 1 makeup product instead of all skincare! ~ Clinique take the day off cleansing balm sephora sample: It was odorless, and just oily enough to efficiently remove my eye makeup and mascara. Bonus, it didn't irritate my eyes. I got the full size for Christmas, but I'm going to try to make some progress on my Pond's cream before I crack into it. ~ Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask sample: I got the pack of deluxe sizes to try, and this mask took so long to finish, I'd never buy a full size. It smelled just like a pumpkin treat, so I enjoyed using it up in the fall/winter. ~ Too Cool for School egg mellow cream lotion: I used this as my morning moisturizer. It had a faintly sweet-lemon scent, which I enjoyed. The pump was nice, but I didn't know how much I had left until I went to pump it and it was empty :( ~ Clinique Welcome Wednesday deluxe lipstick from Christmas 2015: finally! I loved the brown-pink color, bu...

Healthy Habits Challenge - February 2020

I have the habit of spending too much of my money on makeup, and spending too much of my time browsing for makeup and consuming makeup-related media. To counteract this, I make myself "earn" my makeup budget by doing things that are better for my mental and physical health. Here's how I did for the month of February: Purchases: ~ I bought a birthday gift for a friend at Ulta - does not come out of budget ~ I repurchased my husband some dental floss (does not come out of this budget) at Sephora and got a Bobbi Brown lip gloss as a point perk - $0 ~ I purchased a full size of YSL Libre perfume since I loved the sample so much (giving myself grace on this purchase this month) and got the UD brow enhancer brow gel in "Brunette Betty" on sale (counts as a replacement since I destashed my other brow gel when it went bad) ~ ABH Jackie Aina palette - it was on sale at Sephora - I used a $20 gift card so I spent $14.10 Books read ($1 per 100 pages) ~ Cress  by M...
