Pan those Eyeshadows project pan - June 2019 update

For the past month, I've been focusing on using five randomly-chosen eyeshadow shades in my collection with the intent of hitting more pan throughout my collection. The shadows I used May-June were:

1) "Naked" from Urban Decay Naked
2) "Toasted" from Urban Decay Naked
3) "Burnt Orange" from Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam
4) "Pewter" from Lorac Pro
5) "Muse" from Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario

This is the part where I show pictures of slightly deeper dips and ask you to clap for me.

1) "Naked" - The dip is getting a bit bigger, I think. I've continued using this as my transition shade and to line under my eyes. This will take a while.

2) "Toasted" - Yep, this'll take a while too. Another tightly-pressed shade that was practically untouched at the beginning of the project. I'm enjoying using this as my shimmery lid shade, but I was all-too-ready to ditch it to use "Pewter" for a change.

3) "Burnt Orange" - I need to get more adventurous with using this shade. It's powdery enough that it should not be looking as unused as it is. I have been using it as my crease shade, and I think I'll start using it as my outer corner shade as well. I'll be rocking some very warm looks for summer.

4) "Pewter" - I actually hit pan on this! I had been working on this one before it got added to the project, so I'm glad I finally got to power through. This is one of my older palettes, so it was nice to get some more use out of it. I also hit pan on "Nude" by using it nearly every day as my inner corner highlight.

(and the bonus pan in "Nude")

5) "Muse" - Since I previously hit pan on this one, I'm only rolling it in for a month. I think I expanded the pan a little bit, and I always enjoy using this palette.

Since I hit pan on one shade and only temporarily rolled in another, I get to choose two shadows at random for this coming month.

1) Left-sided "definer" shade from Wet n Wild Comfort Zone - These shades don't have names, hence my lame, location-descriptive name. I have not had good experiences with this shade, so it's going to be in the project for one month then rotated back out.

2) "Chauffer" from Colourpop Yes Please - It's the middle shade on the bottom row, pictured here. Unfortunately, I think I've only used this shade maybe once or twice. Hopefully it will go nicely with "Burnt Orange." I see a very orange summer in my future.

Here's the color palette I'll be working with for the next month:

It looks like we're moving from warm neutrals to Jack O'Lantern eyes. I don't think I'm here for it, but we'll see.

Healthy Habits Challenge - February 2020

I have the habit of spending too much of my money on makeup, and spending too much of my time browsing for makeup and consuming makeup-related media. To counteract this, I make myself "earn" my makeup budget by doing things that are better for my mental and physical health. Here's how I did for the month of February: Purchases: ~ I bought a birthday gift for a friend at Ulta - does not come out of budget ~ I repurchased my husband some dental floss (does not come out of this budget) at Sephora and got a Bobbi Brown lip gloss as a point perk - $0 ~ I purchased a full size of YSL Libre perfume since I loved the sample so much (giving myself grace on this purchase this month) and got the UD brow enhancer brow gel in "Brunette Betty" on sale (counts as a replacement since I destashed my other brow gel when it went bad) ~ ABH Jackie Aina palette - it was on sale at Sephora - I used a $20 gift card so I spent $14.10 Books read ($1 per 100 pages) ~ Cress  by M...

December Empties

I finished 7 products in December, including 1 makeup product instead of all skincare! ~ Clinique take the day off cleansing balm sephora sample: It was odorless, and just oily enough to efficiently remove my eye makeup and mascara. Bonus, it didn't irritate my eyes. I got the full size for Christmas, but I'm going to try to make some progress on my Pond's cream before I crack into it. ~ Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask sample: I got the pack of deluxe sizes to try, and this mask took so long to finish, I'd never buy a full size. It smelled just like a pumpkin treat, so I enjoyed using it up in the fall/winter. ~ Too Cool for School egg mellow cream lotion: I used this as my morning moisturizer. It had a faintly sweet-lemon scent, which I enjoyed. The pump was nice, but I didn't know how much I had left until I went to pump it and it was empty :( ~ Clinique Welcome Wednesday deluxe lipstick from Christmas 2015: finally! I loved the brown-pink color, bu...

A Rambly Intro

"Come on, girl! You only have one face!" It's what I tell myself when I start aimlessly shopping for makeup. In the last year, I developed a bit of a shopping addiction, specifically makeup shopping.Writing a blog is my effort to keep myself accountable to start focusing less on buying. I'm going to focus more on using, first and foremost, and then on adding thoughtfully to my makeup wardrobe. This blog is most likely going to be my online makeup-focused diary. I don't have that many people to discuss this with in real life. And somehow posting a blog feels more anonymous than posting on reddit. (If you're interested in any makeup/usage discussion, head to r/makeuprehab or r/muacjdiscussion - some of those subreddit themes will likely influence my ramblings.) Here's a bit what to expect from me: empties posts, reviews, and random thoughts. The word "haul" is dangerous for me, but I might occasionally talk about items I've purchased recent...
