Pan Those Eyeshadows Project Pan - Intro - April 2019

A few of the beauty Youtubers I watch have been participating in a Pan Those Eyeshadows project pan (namely Too Much Tash and Rebecca Morgan). Instead of picking one palette to work through, the focus is on hitting pan on as many shadows as possible throughout one's entire makeup collection. I made a list of every pan of eyeshadow in my collection, then used a random number generator to choose five shadows to work on over the next month. For context, I have 166 individual pans (ouch).

As I made the list I thought to myself, "Man, I really hope I don't get that shade to hit pan on," and decided that for certain shades I've never been drawn to (nay, never even used) I would have the goal of just using it for a month and then pick another one the next month. Along those lines, the rules I have for myself are as follows:

1) Choose shadows randomly.
2) Shadows chosen already having pan can either be a) finished or b) not used and another shadow randomly chosen in its' place.
3) Shadows remain in project until pan is hit, at which point another is rolled in.
4) Certain shadows can have a "usage only" goal, in that I will try to actually use it for a month, not necessarily to the point of hitting pan, and then another shadow is rolled in.

Here are the shadows I picked to start off with

~ "Dk Navy" from the Lorac Mega Pro 3

~ "Naked" from the Urban Decay Naked palette

~ "Burnt Orange" from the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam palette

~ "Toasted" from UD Naked
~ "Darkhorse" from UD Naked

This turned out to be a very Naked-heavy month - I promise I picked them randomly. I'm going to go ahead and say "Dk Navy" and "Darkhorse" are usage-only, since I don't usually use those shadows.

And here's what they look like together! Please ignore my hairy arm.

December 2018 Empties

Y'all. This month looks pitiful compared to past months. I suspect it's because I've mainly been using full-sized skincare so I'm not blazing through as much as I have been. ~ It cosmetics secret sauce moisturizer sample - was a little too much for my oily skin. would not repurchase. ~ Mario Badescu herbal rehydrating serum sample set - this was a gel moisturizer, so it's no surprise that I liked this one. Might try it again in the future, but I have a lot of moisturizer to go through first. ~ 2 Sephora samples of Commodity Gold perfume - this is a warm, sweet scent that I really enjoy and I currently have a travel-size spray. ~ Living Proof perfect hair day shampoo - if you remember when I finished the conditioner, you'll recall that I hated this pair of shampoo and conditioner and I used it up as a shaving cream. Would not repurchase. ~ Estee Lauder sumptuous infinite mascara - this has a plastic bristle brush, which I normally don't like, but...

Empties - June 2019

This past month, I came for my skincare foil samples with a vengeance. So this empties is, as always, mostly skincare with a little bit of makeup and haircare. ~ Exuviance performance peel - This is a two step kind of deal with an activated pad and a neutralizer pad. This sample contained one use, and I didn't see much of a change. I'm also in my 20s and am probably not the target audience. Wouldn't repurchase at this time. ~ boscia Clarifying Detox mask - Clay mask that dries on your face - meh. My skin felt maybe a little cleaner, but no other improvements. It was nice to use, but I probably wouldn't buy this again. I bought it at TJ Maxx a while ago, so goodness knows how old it is. ~ Mango Coconut Guava lotion - I have two sets of mini lotions like this from my family. So you can expect to see more little bottles like this. It smelled nice and has a thin texture, which is nice for the summer. I have seven more of these, so no need to repurchase anything righ...

Pan that Palette 2018 Finale

My goal for 2018 was to pan the Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario. It's a limited edition palette from Christmas 2016, and it was a gift from my fiance (now husband). Since it's LE, I was hesitant to use particular colors and, to be honest, the palette as a whole - what if I run out and can't use it again?! Once you see my year-end progress, it will become clear that those fears were completely unfounded. Here's where I started the year: You can see some nice dips, and there are clearly shades I enjoy. There are no pans. Here's how I ended the year (please excuse the lighting): Over the course of the year I hit pan on: NYC, Kim, Muse, Marina, Lula, 5th Ave, Bronx, and Paris. I didn't have any goals for using Hollywood or Claudia. I didn't make much visible progress on Isabel or Violeta. A few notes about my makeup usage habits - I work three 12-hour shifts a week as a nurse. At the start of the year, I worked night shif...
